Yvette Garcia, Legal Assistant
Yvette Garcia graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Human Services in 2014. While at MSU Yvette was an active member of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority Inc. (LTNU) holding various leadership positions. She is now a member of the National Association for Lambda Alumnae (NALA). Yvette played an integral role in the development and coordination of her chapter’s annual Latina Youth Leadership Conference (LYLC), which promotes the importance of higher education and empowerment to eighth and ninth grade girls in the Denver area.
Yvette volunteered at the 4th Judicial District Probation Department as a Probation Officer and was an Intern for the Denver Center for Crime Victims, Legal Clinic. Her most recent experience is working as a paralegal for a prestigious immigration law firm where she prepared and filed applications through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Center. In addition to acquiring proficiency as a litigation and criminal defense paralegal, Yvette’s goal is to further her education and pursue a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration/Law.
A strong believer in the LTNU philosophy, Yvette prides herself on community outreach and service projects, such as raising funds for the organizations philanthropy (Literacy Grams) and the annual awarding of a scholarship to a female high school student. Yvette is proud to maintain a solid network foundation with LTNU sisters from active chapters coast to coast.
